The Supreme Chancellor broadcasting state commercials in Iron Curtain Call
Like classic satirical sci fi action films, Iron Curtain Call fills every street with cheerful propaganda broadcasts while you blast through robot squads.
The short answer

The nine games at a glance

What made RoboCop: Rogue City such a hit on Steam was not just the deafening burst fire of the Auto 9 pistol; it was how completely it committed to deadpan satirical worldbuilding, loudspeaker commercials, and unapologetic single player action. While building Iron Curtain Call as a solo developer in Istanbul, I leaned into that exact Verhoeven style contrast: cheerful public service announcements and polite customer service hotlines playing over loudspeakers while you blow wind up tin soldiers into springs and scrap.

If you want heavy, stomp forward action with satirical corporate or imperial worldbuilding, start with RoboCop: Rogue City ($39.99, Windows and macOS) and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun ($21.99). If you want eighties and nineties VHS action energy cranked to maximum speed, play MULLET MADJACK ($19.99, free demo on Steam), Turbo Overkill ($19.99, free demo on Steam), Ion Fury ($24.99) and Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour ($19.99). If you want bombastic alternate history resistance or chunky industrial firefights, play Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus ($39.99) and Prodeus ($24.99). And if you want a 1930s rubber hose cartoon shooter where World War III is run by a polite customer service computer, try the free Steam demo of my game Iron Curtain Call (out 11 March 2027).

Why satire makes action hit harder

A cheerful commercial before a firefight makes the explosion twice as funny

From RoboCop’s Media Break segments to Iron Curtain Call’s Ministry of Truth broadcasts, deadpan corporate and state satire gives over the top gunplay a sharp comedic frame.
