The short answer

The nine games at a glance

Players who fall in love with Pizza Tower are hooked on a specific combination that is rare in modern games: unhinged, expressive hand drawn cartoon animation paired with non stop forward momentum where hesitating breaks your combo. When I started building Iron Curtain Call as a solo developer in Istanbul, I wanted that same rubbery, wide eyed cartoon energy in a first person shooter: grinning steam trains burst out of tunnels, self awarded generals bellow over loudspeakers, and you dash, grapple and punch through tin robot squads without ever slowing down.

If you want the closest first person match to Pizza Tower ($19.99) in sheer manic speed and combo timer pressure, play MULLET MADJACK ($19.99, free demo on Steam) and Anger Foot ($19.99, free demo on Steam). If you want hand drawn rubber hose and cartoon animation in first person or 2D boss rushes, play MOUSE: P.I. For Hire ($29.99), Cuphead ($19.99) and my game Iron Curtain Call (free demo on Steam and 60 second browser trial, releasing 11 March 2027). And if you want colourful sprite slapstick and P rank score chasing, play Fashion Police Squad ($19.99), POSTAL: Brain Damaged ($19.99, free demo) and ULTRAKILL ($29.99, free demo).

Iron Curtain Call

My game

Play it if you want hand drawn 1930s cartoon animation and high speed melee in first person.

I built Iron Curtain Call for players who want cartoon faces that actually mug, grimace and fall apart when you hit them at high speed. You dash and grapple across an absurd 1965 World War III, parry rockets with a white cartoon glove, and fight theatrical bosses like Major Disaster. Mission 1 is free on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux, and a 60 second trial runs in your browser.

Why cartoon animation loves speed

Exaggerated poses make fast action easier to read

Cartoon animators invented squash, stretch and exaggerated wind up poses so an audience could read motion in a few frames of film. In a fast shooter like MULLET MADJACK, Anger Foot or Iron Curtain Call, those same bold poses let you spot an enemy’s attack while sprinting at full speed.

Questions

Questions players ask about games like Pizza Tower for FPS fans

What FPS feels most like Pizza Tower’s Pizza Time escape?
